The front face of the scooter has a sleek M shape design that looks sharp and edgy. The reflectorized graphics helps increase visibility on the road especially at night. The Mio i125 features new graphics including wheel graphics in a distinct color combination that symbolizes the evolution of Mio. The unit I was lent was the trendy Cyan color, which manages to stand out in a sea of scooters. The Mio i125 also comes in Matte Blue and Matte Black for those who want something a little darker and more mature looking for business use and daily commuting. The Magenta, Cyan and Yellow variants will probably appeal to younger riders and female riders, who want a fun and cheerful-looking personal scooter. The Mio i125 comes in 5 different color options, giving riders choices to pick from to match their personality. Yamaha lent me a review unit of the Mio i125 for their #MioOwnthe Culture Campaign and here’s what I can share about this reliable scooter. Some of the newer Mio variants available in the market today include the Mio Sporty, Mio i125, Mio Soul i125, Mio Gravis, Mio Aerox and Mio Gear, which all appeal to different subcultures of riders. I absolutely love this scooter and I’ve taken it from Manila to Bicol and even Cebu in the past. My first scooter is actually the retro Mio Fino Classic, one of the older Mio models. The Mio culture has been around in the country since 2007, with models continually evolving with the times. Mio is well-known as one of the most popular and reliable commuter scooter models in the Philippines. While many people are just longing for better days ahead, riders have still been able to enjoy a sense of freedom and discovery and can look forward to fun weekends to destinations nearby that have reopened to leisure travelers, with their own personal commuters, like the Yamaha Mio. We all miss visiting scenic places, trying out new food spots, and breathing in the fresh air. The cost-cutting is quite evident from the limited features on board this scooter. It’s been a while since we’ve enjoyed the freedom of traveling and hanging out with friends in trendy destinations like La Union, Boracay, and Siargao. The instrument console of the 2021 Yamaha Mio Sporty too is a very simple affair, and it packs in only analog dials for the speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge. Even the five-spoke alloy wheels, as well as exhaust pipe, are finished in an all-black theme, with the latter getting a premium-looking chrome shield on it. The clear lens turn indicators are accommodated within this tail lamp cluster, with a very big single-piece pillion grab handle placed above it. There is a very small storage compartment recessed in the back portion of the apron, which is good enough for storing small knick-knacks.Īt the back, the 2021 Yamaha Mio Sporty has got a very nice-looking crown-shaped tail lamp cluster, which is quite large going by the overall size of the scooter. The slim-looking rear side body panels blend in nicely with the black finished floorboard, which looks quite small but is accommodating enough for even taller riders. The 2021 Yamaha Mio Sporty has a very simple and minimalist design when you see it from sideways. The main headlamp is placed above the handlebar cowl. Above the middle of this light cluster, there are two small air vents positioned, thus adding furthermore character to the front profile of the scooter. This complete light cluster has clear lens turn indicators on either side and an auxiliary lamp in the middle. The front styling of the 2021 Yamaha Mio Sporty has some distinctive thanks to the U-shaped light cluster placed on the lower part of the front apron. While the ‘Casual Essentials’ variant of the Mio Sporty comes with girly body decals on its rear side panels, the ‘Matte Bold Edition’ variant looks quite sober with its all-matte paint scheme.

The scooter, with its slim and lean profile, looks chic and simple. One look at the 2021 Yamaha Mio Sporty is enough to confirm that its overall styling is inclined towards the urban younger audience more than any other age group.
